The coloured aggregates used by Alltype Driveways for our coverstone bitumen include three river gravels. River gravels are a smoother, rounded aggregate providing a more foot friendly walking surface.
One is Coffs Harbour, which is a natural white coloured stone mix. Gympie coverstone is a darker version of river gravel, with a mix of browns, golds and natural colours. Harvest is the other river gravel, which consists of warm gold tones. The other two aggregates are known as crushed rock and they are sharper in texture. Regency is a dark burgundy coloured stone. Blue Metal is a medium grey coloured stone.
All our coloured stone is transported from the various quarries, washed and cleaned in a screening plant to give it maximum adhesion to the hot bitumen. The aggregates can be mixed to give a different colour variation as per customer choice.
